    The International Karate Alliance (IKA), KyokushinRyu is proud to announce the upcoming 2nd Region 4A Invitational KyokushinRyu Tournament, scheduled to take place on July 26, 2026, in Antipolo City, Rizal.

    Following the continued growth of KyokushinRyu throughout Region 4A, the tournament is expected to bring together practitioners, coaches, officials, and supporters from across the region for a day of high-level competition and martial arts excellence.

    The event will feature both Kumite and Kata competitions, providing opportunities for participants of various ages and skill levels to showcase their abilities. Divisions are expected to include Men’s, Women’s, Junior, and Kids categories, making the tournament one of the most inclusive regional gatherings on the KyokushinRyu calendar.

    From the opening matches to the final bouts, participants demonstrated remarkable determination and courage as they stepped onto the competition area to test their skills against fellow practitioners.     Sensei Xiao Zheng Completes Kyokushin’s 30-Man Kumite

    A remarkable display of endurance, spirit, and discipline was recently demonstrated as Sensei Xiao Zheng successfully completed the grueling 30-man kumite—one of the most respected challenges in full-contact Kyokushin.

    Serving as the Kyokushin Branch Chief for Hang Zhou, China, Sensei Zheng traveled abroad to undergo an intensive three-week Uchideshi training program under Shihan Philip Moustache. This period of preparation culminated in his attempt at the 30-man fight (San Ju Nin Kumite), a test that pushes both physical limits and mental resolve.

    A Test of True Spirit

    Held at the Young Lions Dojo in Belonie, the event drew a large and vocal crowd, reflecting the significance of the challenge. Sensei Zheng faced 30 consecutive opponents—each a black belt—under full-contact Kyokushin rules. Every bout lasted two minutes, with no room for hesitation or retreat.

    From the opening rounds, it was clear that this would not be a routine test. Each opponent brought fresh energy, while fatigue steadily accumulated. Despite this, Sensei Zheng maintained composure, applying the techniques he refined during his preparation.

    As the rounds progressed past the halfway mark, the difficulty intensified. Yet, he continued to demonstrate what Kyokushin practitioners refer to as the “Spirit of Osu”—persistence under pressure, respect in combat, and the will to continue despite exhaustion.

    The Final Rounds

    The last ten fights proved to be the most demanding. By this stage, physical strain was evident, but Sensei Zheng remained standing, refusing to yield. Encouraged by the crowd, he pushed through each exchange until the final round was completed.

    At the conclusion of the 30th fight, he had done more than just endure—he had proven his readiness among serious Kyokushin practitioners.

    Recognition and What’s Next

    Following the completion of the challenge, Shihan Philip Moustache formally confirmed Sensei Zheng’s success and presented him with his 30-man kumite certificate.

    This achievement places him among a select group of karateka who have completed such demanding tests. While not mandatory for all practitioners, the 30-man kumite is reserved for those seeking to push beyond standard expectations.

    Looking ahead, Sensei Zheng may aim for an even greater challenge—the 40-man kumite—potentially within the next two years.

    The 30-man kumite is not simply about fighting 30 opponents. It is a measure of preparation, discipline, and mindset. It demands sacrifice, resilience, and a clear understanding of Kyokushin’s core principles.
